Oh look, A View from Cherry Hill!

Sometimes the things we see, impact us for a lifetime. The view I see each time I leave my mother’s house in Coeur D’Alene is definitely one of those things for me. One day after leaving her house, I decided to stop the car and snap a pic. It was an important minute for me to consume. My rendering of that snapshot really brings me back there. It shows you the elements of Coeur D’Alene Lake and its surrounding area. I captured the elements that give you the sense of leaving Cherry Hill and driving into Coeur D’Alene proper.

Hand of the artist

I couldn’t help myself. There were some roofs in the picture, which I chose to edit out. Coeur D’Alene is pretty much like what I rendered. I wanted to make sure the natural elements of Coeur D’Alene were in full view, showing what the development of the area has brought to the little town. This resort destination has been listed on game shows and the world’s top 10. Stars come here to hide and rest and take care of their spirits with a nice view. My mother just so happens to live right in the middle of it. I had to share the view as it is too amazing to keep to myself. 

Intentional visual rest

I wanted to make sure you got the feeling that I did. One of awe, enjoyment, and contentment. The drive off of this hill always reminds me of the splendor that is nature. The realistic roll of the clouds teleports you right to that same area. The concept for me was to do everything I could to render the piece as close to the scene as I could. I know the clouds are as much Idaho as those trees. A big feather blanket to make sure we are all nice and covered. It would mean everything to me if I could share my feelings of this scene with you, through a brush and some colorful mud.
